We're here to help and support our customers who have been affected by the flood crisis in NSW and QLD in 2022. To support those in need, we’re offering a Flood Assistance Package which provides a 3-month premium waiver period for eligible life insurance customers.

Important Notice

On 9 August 2021 Westpac announced it had agreed with TAL Dai-ichi Life Australia Pty Limited (“TAL”) to sell Westpac Life Insurance Services Limited ("WLISL") and enter an exclusive 20-year strategic alliance for the provision of life insurance products to Westpac’s Australian customers. What assistance can I get?

The Flood Assistance Package provides eligible customers with a 3-month premium waiver, effective from the next policy payment date (note: customers who pay premiums annually and half-yearly will receive a pro-rata waiver in future).

Cover will continue while premiums are being waived under this package.

How do I apply?

To access the Flood Assistance Package, please contact your financial adviser or contact us directly by phoning 1300 553 764 from 8am – 6.30pm Mon to Fri (AEST).

Terms and Conditions for the Flood Assistance Package

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Flood Assistance premium waiver, customers must:

  • hold an active life insurance policy (including policies held within superannuation) for a minimum of 6 months prior to the flood impact
  • sign and submit the Flood Assistance Package application before 30 September 2022, and
  • provide evidence of having been approved for any ONE of the below government assistance payments for the floods in NSW or Queensland:
    • Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment
    • Disaster Recovery Allowance
    • Emergency Hardship Assistance Grant
    • Essential Services Hardship Assistance Grant
    • Essential Household Contents Grant
    • Structural Assistance Grant
    • Essential Services Safety and Reconnection Grant

Once satisfactory evidence is received via email or mail, we will apply the premium waiver on the policy and confirmation will be provided to the customer.

Policy holders who do not meet the above criteria will be assessed on a case-by-case basis for assistance.
